The paintings here in the CityLife Gallery are bold, serious, statement pieces mostly on large scale. "I love your colours!" is frequently what people say when they look at her paintings. Colour is one of Elizabeth's specialties and she loves it when her colors resonate with people. Our brains and our hearts respond to colour she says and feels a huge amount of satisfaction when her work can evoke such emotion.

Elizabeth starts each painting first thinking of the subject and then lays down the background. Choosing carefully the colours to reflect the chosen subject whether it be nature or figurative. Each painting can have layers of paint built up in her fluid style, sometimes layered with resin until she gets the desired effect. Then the subject is painted on top of the beautiful background which on it's own is a stunning piece. Each subject is painted using many methods, brushes, pouring or manipulating with various tools. She captures the movement of a wing, the swish of a fin or the fold of a garment so the viewer can feel this too. Once completed, the whole painting is coated in a layer of resin bringing out the depth and colour of each piece giving it an almost three dimensional look. As good as photography is these days, Elizabeth’s paintings need to be seen in the flesh in order to be truly appreciated.
